After the Fire... a walk through a Waldo burn area.
SOLD OUT!

“After the Fire... a walk through a Waldo burn area.”  is an exclusive look into a Waldo Canyon Fire burn area.  Join us for a unique opportunity to hear from the experts.  They will discuss the present status, future scenarios, and needed restoration efforts in the aftermath of the fire.  In partnership with the Flying W Ranch, three area nonprofits have come together to provide a morning field trip that brings together professionals in the field.  They will guide you through the burn area noting the fires effects and ecological impact while others demonstrate on-the-ground restoration efforts and their vital importance.
The Coalition for the Upper South Platte (CUSP), Rocky Mountain Field Institute (RMFI) and Mile High Youth Corps (MHYC) have all been involved with restoration efforts both after the Hayman Wildfire, Colorado’s largest, and now in the Waldo Canyon Wildfire recovery efforts.  The general public will likely not be allowed unaccompanied into the burn area for many more months.  Learn why and how you can start contributing now to mitigate the effects of the fire and help our forest and community recover.
Please wear sturdy shoes or boots and dress for Colorado weather.  This will be an outdoor event with no shelter.  Ticket cost is $30 and will benefit these organizations in their restoration efforts.  Only 100 tickets will be sold for this event and we expect to sell out.   A signed release will be necessary to enter and participate, no one younger than 18 or without a signed release will be allowed to enter the area.
