Alma State Wilife Area Interactive Journey > Middle/South Fork > Alma State wildlife area
The Middle Fork of the South Platte runs through the Alma State Wildlife Area (ASWA), which is located near the top of the watershed at the base of Hoosier Pass. ASWA is a wonderful wetland ecosystem that has been preserved for future generations to enjoy through the generous donation of a conservation easement on the entire corridor. The Colorado Division of Wildlife - the agency that manages state wildlife areas - has made improvements in the area to provide fishing access along the Middle Fork and in Columbia and Montgomery Reservoirs.
